What Is Thin Wood

According to log diameter, manufacturers use different sawing methods:

  • Three‑sided sawing
  • Four‑sided squaring
  • Sector sawing for quarter‑sliced grain
 
Reasonable sawing improves yield and ensures stable slicing quality.
 

Heat Treatment

 
Heat treatment softens wood fibers and prevents cracking, warping and tearing during slicing.
 
  • Softwood: low‑temperature boiling for at least 2 days
