The veneer dryer is a mechanical equipment that vaporizes and escapes the moisture (generally refers to moisture or other volatile liquid components) in the material by heating to obtain a solid material with a regular moisture content. Since ancient times, human beings have been accustomed to drying materials with natural heat sources and natural ventilation. The production capacity is low due to the limitation of natural conditions. With the development of production, they are gradually replaced by artificially controllable heat sources and mechanical ventilation and dehumidification techniques.
The modern veneer dryer started to use a fixed-bed veneer dryer with intermittent operation. In the middle of the 19th century, the use of drum veneer dryers marked the development of veneer dryers from intermittent operation to continuous operation. The reversing cylinder veneer dryer better realizes the agitation of the granular materials, and the drying ability and strength are improved. In the early 20th century, the production of dairy products began to use spray veneer dryers, which provided powerful tools for large-scale drying of liquid materials. In the 1940s, with the development of fluidization technology, fluidized bed and air flow veneer dryers with high strength and high yield were successively presented. The freeze sublimation, radiation and dielectric veneer dryers provide new methods to meet special requirements.
In the 1960s, far-infrared and microwave veneer dryers were developed. The drying process requires a lot of heat energy. In order to save energy, some materials with high moisture content, suspensions or solutions containing solid substances are generally first mechanically dehydrated or heated to evaporate, and then dried in a veneer dryer to obtain dry solids.
